Located in Johor Bahru, Berkat is the beneficiary that VOLUME is currently partnering with for Educate to Elevate. They house 28 children aged 4 to 18 of mixed race and is headed by Pastor Davidson, alongside several staff members.
Some, if not most of the children arrive at their doorstep with complicated family issues, some of them unfathomable, that often results in neglect of the children. Berkat strives to create a loving and holistic environment suitable for upbringing, with staff members and tutoring volunteers acting as role models for the children.

Every morning after breakfast, the children will travel to a Agape Enrichment Centre, a learning centre fully equipped with online learning devices, and attend both physical and online lessons (of which, some of them are E2E lessons!). After half a day of lessons, they'll return to the home and participate in a form of recreation activity - football being the favourite of the boys ⚽.
Like every other kid, they have their hobbies, which includes gaming, Sudoku and listening to Lo-Fi music. Every Friday night is their designated movie night, and some of our E2E volunteers recently joined them in watching a movie, Corpse Bride!
Berkat obtains their funding solely from well-wishers, clubs, organisations, public companies and friends. During the pandemic, funds have dwindled and on most days, they can only afford chicken and vegetarian based meals. If you'd like to make a contribution to them, please contact Pastor Davidson at +60 12-727 1244. However, if you'd prefer to volunteer, you can consider E2E as a volunteering opportunity.
